What comes to mind when you think about worship?

Jn. 4:23 Worship is mainly about our hearts.

Worship is the expression of our faith, gratitude, love, and reverence for the Lord.

True worship always focuses on God and glorifies him.

Why is worship important?

I. Priority Ex. 20:3

There is a constant battle for first place in our hearts.

If we look to anyone or anything to give us the blessings God offers (unconditional love, security, peace, etc.), or,

if we give more love and loyalty to anything than we do to God, we can make it an idol in our hearts.

II. Presence 2 Cor. 3:16-18

When we worship the Lord in spirit and truth, we get closer to him.

In God’s presence, we sense how awesome he is, his holiness, power, love, and joy, and he changes us.

III. Perspective 2 Cor. 4:16-18

What we choose to focus on seems to get bigger.

What we focus on affects how we see everything.

Our focus affects our feelings.

Worship helps us focus on God in a way that comforts us and encourages us to be faithful to him.

Will you be a true worshipper the Father is seeking?
