All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable 2 Tim. 3:15-4:4. God revealed himself and his will for us in his word. It’s one harmonious narrative of revelation: creation, sin, redemption (Jesus), and new creation.
According to Jesus, God’s word is truth Jn. 17:16, 17.
God cannot be separated from his word Ps. 138:2 ESV.
1 Tim. 1:5 I believe this commandment reveals God’s heart for all his commandments. God loves us and wants what is best for us. It’s important to know God’s heart, his holiness and love, his justice and mercy, as we seek to know and live by his word.
Eight of the ways in which God’s word is profitable:
- Revive us Ps. 119:25
- Strengthen us Ps. 119:28
- Give us hope Ps. 119:49, 50
- Give us wisdom Ps. 119:98
- Free us Jn. 8:31, 32
- Encourage us Acts 15:31
- Build us up Acts 20:32
- Heal our soul Jas. 1:21
Do you see what blessings we rob ourselves of by neglecting God’s word, or not living by its truths?
Will you make time with the Lord and his word a top priority?
If so, how will you practically live this out?
May God bless and encourage you as you seek him.
Great Sermon on Sunday and also the Sunday before. Enjoyed it immensely.Pastor Rocky what was the first question you said when we read Philippians. I got the one question about what did we learn about the Lord.
Thank God.
The second question is, What truths can we live by from Philippians?
The Lord bless you and speak to you by his Spirit through his word.
